नमस्तेस्तू महामाये श्रीपिठे सूरपुजिते ।
शंख चक्र गदा हस्ते महालक्ष्मी नमोस्तूते ॥१॥

नमस्ते गरूडारूढे कोलासूर भयंकरी ।
सर्व पाप हरे देवी महालक्ष्मी नमोस्तूते ॥२॥

सर्वज्ञे सर्ववरदे सर्वदुष्ट भयंकरी ।
सर्व दुःख हरे देवी महालक्ष्मी नमोस्तूते ॥३॥

सिद्धीबुद्धूीप्रदे देवी भुक्तिमुक्ति प्रदायिनी ।
मंत्रमूर्ते सदा देवी महालक्ष्मी नमोस्तूते ॥ ४ ॥

आद्यंतरहिते देवी आद्यशक्ती महेश्वरी ।
योगजे योगसंभूते महालक्ष्मी नमोस्तूते ॥ ५ ॥

स्थूल सूक्ष्म महारौद्रे महाशक्ती महोदरे ।
महापाप हरे देवी महालक्ष्मी नमोस्तूते ॥ ६ ॥

पद्मासनस्थिते देवी परब्रम्हस्वरूपिणी ।
परमेशि जगन्मातर्र महालक्ष्मी नमोस्तूते ॥७॥

श्वेतांबरधरे देवी नानालंकार भूषिते ।
जगत्स्थिते जगन्मार्त महालक्ष्मी नमोस्तूते ॥८॥

महालक्ष्म्यष्टकस्तोत्रं यः पठेत् भक्तिमान्नरः ।
सर्वसिद्धीमवाप्नोति राज्यं प्राप्नोति सर्वदा ॥९॥

एककाले पठेन्नित्यं महापापविनाशनं ।
द्विकालं यः पठेन्नित्यं धनधान्य समन्वितः ॥१०॥

त्रिकालं यः पठेन्नित्यं महाशत्रूविनाशनं ।
महालक्ष्मीर्भवेन्नित्यं प्रसन्ना वरदा शुभा ॥११॥

॥ इतिंद्रकृत श्रीमहालक्ष्म्यष्टकस्तवः संपूर्णः ॥

namastestu mahāmāye śrīpīṭhe surapūjite |
śaṅkha cakra gadā haste mahālakṣmi namostute || 1 ||

namaste garuḍārūḍhe kolāsura bhayaṅkari |
sarva pāpa hare devi mahālakṣmi namostute || 2 ||

sarvajñe sarva varade sarva duṣṭa bhayaṅkari |
sarva duḥkha hare devi mahālakṣmi namostute || 3 ||

siddhi buddhi prade devi bhukti mukti pradāyini |
mantra mūrte sadā devi mahālakṣmi namostute || 4 ||

ādyantarahite devi ādya śakti maheśvari |
yogaje yoga sambhūte mahālakṣmi namostute || 5 ||

sthūla sūkṣma mahāraudre mahāśakti mahodare |
mahāpāpa hare devi mahālakṣmi namostute || 6 ||

padmāsanasthite devi parabrahma svarūpiṇi |
parameśi jaganmātar mahālakṣmi namostute || 7 ||

śvetāmbara dhare devi nānālaṅkāra bhūṣite |
jagatsthite jaganmātar mahālakṣmi namostute || 8 ||

mahālakṣmyaṣṭakastotraṃ yaḥ paṭhet bhaktimān naraḥ |
sarva siddhim avāpnoti rājyaṃ prāpnoti sarvadā || 9 ||

eka kāle paṭhennityaṃ mahāpāpa vināśanam |
dvikālaṃ yaḥ paṭhennityaṃ dhana dhānya samanvitaḥ || 10 ||

trikālaṃ yaḥ paṭhennityaṃ mahāśatru vināśanam |
mahālakṣmīr bhavennityaṃ prasannā varadā śubhā || 11 ||

|| itīndrakṛta śrīmahālakṣmyaṣṭakastavaḥ sampūrṇaḥ ||

atha śrī indrakṛta śrī mahālakṣmī aṣṭaka

English translation

Verse 1
Salutations to You, O Mahamaya (the Great Illusion), who abodes in the sacred seat (Sri Pitha) and is worshipped by the Devas. Salutations to You, O Goddess Mahalakshmi, who holds the conch, discus, and mace in Her hands.

Verse 2
Salutations to You, who rides upon Garuda and strikes terror into the demon Kolasura. Salutations to You, O Goddess Mahalakshmi, who dispels all sins.

Verse 3
Salutations to You, who is all-knowing (omniscient), the bestower of all boons, and terrifying to all evil forces. Salutations to You, O Goddess Mahalakshmi, who removes every sorrow.

Verse 4
Salutations to You, O Goddess, who bestows success (siddhi) and wisdom (buddhi), and grants both worldly enjoyment and liberation. Salutations to You, O Goddess Mahalakshmi, the eternal embodiment of sacred mantras.

Verse 5
Salutations to You, O Goddess without beginning or end, the primordial cosmic energy (Aadya Shakti), and the Supreme Sovereign. Salutations to You, O Mahalakshmi, born of Yoga and manifested through divine devotion.

Verse 6
Salutations to You, who exists in both visible (gross) and invisible (subtle) forms, possessor of immense fierce power and the great womb of the universe. Salutations to You, O Goddess Mahalakshmi, who destroys even the heaviest of sins.

Verse 7
Salutations to You, O Goddess seated on a lotus, who is the true embodiment of the Supreme Spirit (Parabrahma). Salutations to You, O Supreme Goddess, Mother of the Universe, Mahalakshmi!

Verse 8
Salutations to You, O Goddess clad in pure white garments, adorned with magnificent ornaments. Salutations to You, O Mother of the Universe who sustains all existence, Mahalakshmi!

Verse 9
Whoever devoutly recites this Mahalakshmi Ashtakam hymn attains all perfection and spiritual accomplishments, and gains true prosperity and sovereignty.

Verse 10
Reciting it once a day destroys great sins. Reciting it twice a day blesses one with continuous wealth, prosperity, and abundance.

Verse 11
Reciting it three times a day destroys powerful negative influences and adversaries. Goddess Mahalakshmi remains ever pleased, gracious, and bestows Her divine blessings upon the devotee.
