English translation
Verse 1
I worship Him who is the sole ornament of the Vraja region, who destroys all sins, and who delights the hearts of His devotees. I bow to that elegant Lord Krishna, the eternal son of Nanda, whose head is adorned with a crown of peacock feathers, who holds a sweet-sounding flute in His hand, and who is an ocean of the divine play of love.
Verse 2
I bow to the lotus-eyed Lord, who shatters the pride of Cupid (Kamadeva), who possesses large, beautiful, rolling eyes, and who washes away the sorrows of the cowherds. I bow to Lord Krishna, who lifted the Govardhan mountain with His lotus-like hands, whose smiling glance is wonderfully beautiful, and who crushed the false pride of Lord Indra.
Verse 3
I bow to Lord Krishna, who wears earrings made of Kadamba flowers, whose cheeks are extremely beautiful, who is the sole beloved of the Gopis of Vraja, and who is otherwise very difficult to attain. I bow to the Lord of the cowherds, who brings boundless joy to Mother Yashoda, Nanda, and the cowherd community, and who is the only true bestower of happiness.
Verse 4
I bow to the young son of Nanda, whose lotus feet I forever hold closely in my heart, and whose locks of hair are exquisitely beautiful. I bow to the beloved of Nanda, who removes all flaws and impurities, who nourishes the entire universe, and who is the very heart and soul of all the cowherds.
Verse 5
I bow to the stealer of hearts, the young boy of Mother Yashoda, who descends to relieve the burden of the earth, and who is the guiding helmsman helping us cross the vast ocean of worldly existence (Samsara). I bow to the son of Nanda, whose sidelong glances are charming and captivating, who always loves the company of the righteous, and whose divine form appears ever-new, day after day.
Verse 6
I bow to the joy of the cowherds, who is an ocean of virtues, a mine of happiness, profoundly graceful, and infinitely compassionate; the one who destroys the enemies of the gods. I bow to Him who is as beautiful as a dark raincloud, wearing garments that shine like brilliant lightning—the eternally youthful, elegant cowherd who is ever eager for new, joyful pastimes.
Verse 7
I bow to the Lord of the bowers (Kunjas), who brings joy to all the cowherds, who is the sole delight of the lotus-like hearts of His devotees, who wanders through the groves of Vrindavan, and who shines brightly like a joyful sun. I bow to the Master of the groves, who grants all desires to the fullest, whose beautiful sidelong glances strike like arrows of love, and who plays the most sweetest, nectar-like melodies on His flute.
Verse 8
I bow to the Lord who drank the devastating forest fire in the groves, and who comfortably rests on the beautiful bed of the minds of the intelligent Gopis. I bow to the divine enjoyer (Sri Vihari), who is radiant with youthful charm, whose eyes are beautifully adorned with collyrium (kajal), and who granted liberation to Gajendra, the king of elephants.
Verse 9 (Phala Shruti - The Benefit of Recitation)
May I always sing the true and glorious tales of Lord Krishna, in whatever way, here and there, and may His divine grace be ever bestowed upon me. Whoever recites or studies these eight authoritative verses (Pramanikashtakam) will be blessed with steadfast, supreme devotion to the son of Nanda (Lord Krishna), in every birth they take.
